the Bunny who was memed
before memes were
a thing.

In 1806 Louis Bonaparte told the Dutch he was their "Konijn van 'Olland" instead of their "Koning van Holland." Two centuries later, the joke finally gets its coin.

The Origin Story

He wasn't trying to be a meme. That's what made him one.

Real 19th-century history, dug up and put on-chain. Every card below is a true fact from the biography of Louis Bonaparte, King of Holland from 1806 to 1810.

Louis Bonaparte, King of Holland
1806

The mistranslation heard round the world

Napoleon put his brother on the Dutch throne. Trying to greet his new subjects in their own language, Louis's poor Dutch came out as "Konijn van 'Olland" — Bunny of Holland — instead of "Koning van Holland," King of Holland.

1806–10

Certified degen relocation habits

Louis changed his capital city more than a dozen times — Amsterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, and beyond — once evicting a merchant just because he liked his house. The entire diplomatic corps had to formally ask him to sit still.

1807–09

Diamond hands, disaster response

After a gunpowder ship exploded in Leiden and a flood devastated the country, Louis personally ran the relief effort. His people started calling him "Louis the Good" — which, according to Napoleon, meant he'd failed as a king.

1810

He fought his own business partner

When Napoleon demanded Dutch troops and tried to gut the Dutch economy, Louis refused, called the French occupation unlawful, and abdicated rather than fold. Holland was his exit liquidity, not Napoleon's.

Proof of Meme

The evolution, documented.

From an actual Bonaparte to a fully-realized bunny king — the way every good meme is born.

The Bunny of Olland never asked for an empire — but Bonaparte blood doesn't stay quiet. Now he's coming for the crypto world!

He set his sights past the small local coins and went straight for the biggest names — Dogecoin coasting on ten years of hype, Pepe sitting comfortably on his pile, and all the nameless rocket-emoji coins flooding in every day. He didn't see rivals. He saw open spots at the top.

He didn't build an army, he built liquidity — one green candle at a time. The bigger coins will notice eventually. They always do, right before their chart turns green with someone else's name on it.

A Real Movement

A real movement today.

This isn't confined to the internet. This past August, a six-metre-tall bunny statue was raised at the Kop van de Vaart in the Dutch city of Assen, built from repurposed car-wash containers as part of a local outdoor art exhibition. It leans on the same real history behind this coin: Louis Napoleon granted Assen its city rights in 1809, during his reign as King of Holland — the era that produced the "Konijn van 'Olland" line the statue and this project both take their name from. It's set to remain on display through mid-September, with hopes of finding it a permanent home in the city afterward.

There is a growing hope under the population to retire the old mascotte of the town, Bartje, and make "het Konijn van Olland" the new mascotte of the town.

Together we can get enough attention to make this happen!
